Everyday i'm learning how important it is to live in the moment. With all the hustle and bustle of life's regular scheduled programs , we forget to enjoy every breath and the dawn of a new day . I've decided to take back the time that was stolen by busy work and worries of everyday and created a plan for my summer , which will eventually be for my life.
Although I made a "bucket list " , I've never had the time to execute each plan. Or so I thought. I'd become so consumed by the stress of things that I could not change that I forgot that I was in full control of my happiness.
This past week , I decided that although my bucket list is hefty and would require time and funds , I could begin to eliminate plans and outings that were feasible. I must say the smallest decisions can impact our lives and ways of thinking. From that moment on , we planned to try different foods at least once a week. My first stop was Pizza Studio near Johns Hopkins in Baltimore , MD. My reaction : Amazing . Whether it is food or base jumping , the feeling of something new is extremely refreshing.
That day came and went , and on a Friday afternoon I decided to set out on Public Transportation to do more of our favorites as well as enjoy another "different" meal. During our boat ride at the Baltimore Harbor , I tried for hours to find a hashtag that would perfectly describe the days events as well as the feeling that came over me , to no avail. There is truly no way to express feeling something refreshing. I've learned that every once in a while it is important to bask in the life . It is so easy for us to budget plan for bills and other obligations , but we put off the responsibility to love and care for ourselves. How exactly was I so content with not giving myself personal days ? Time is no longer an excuse for me because I'm learning how to maximize the 24 hours that we are all given for the sake of being sane.
I am excited about crossing things off of my bucket list , I encourage everyone to make their own . Whether it is trying a new restaurant, learning how to cook a meal , taking a day trip or a week-long vacation , dedicate some time to yourself .
You'll be surprised at how much better you rest at night when you've been productive at investing in yourself.
