It's hard when you're going nowhere fast .That thought bothered me for so long for the last , almost two years of my life.
My best friends have known what their "callings" were since high school or at least had an idea of where they'd want to be in a few years after college. There I was , with all the drive but no true goal. I always thought that " finding yourself" in the world was a period in which teenagers go through to identify themselves in a social atmosphere. I've since then learned through my own experiences that you must find yourself through purpose , and what other way do you find purpose than through your passion?
What makes you want to wake up every morning ? What motivates you to go into class or work after sleepless nights?
What wouldn't you mind doing for the rest of your life? For these questions , I had no answers.
As a matter of fact , I had way too many answers . I was all over the place . That's when I realized what all of my goals circulated around . People. While I can be very shy , "helping people" was the best way to summarize what I love to do. If I could touch one heart per day , for the rest of my life , I would be the happiest person on earth .
Some said i'd never make money as a social worker or a teacher , just to name things that i'd dabbled in. haha .Guess who doesn't care? I've made up my mind that t 1. Some of the richest people in the world are unhappy
2. My mother has raised my sister & I comfortably on a modest income
3. ( Most Importantly) If you love something , do it well . It will make money.
I always tell people who struggle with the same issues I have , that living without purpose and working without passion will be their biggest downfall if they give in .
When conflicted with life-changing decisions , my most valuable advice will be this : Do what wont feel like a job , but rather a lifestyle. Ask yourself , Where is the passion in your living? ..Passion will always drive you when there's no more fuel.
